The contract price is set out in the quotation, which includes details of the charges which SMI Handyman Leeds will make for labour. Materials and parts may be required and supplied at an additional cost.
The Estimate will remain valid for 30 days from the date stated.
The estimate is based on the work being done during normal working hours of 08:00Hrs and 17:00Hrs.
Any additional work or variation shall be charged on a time and materials basis or be subject to a separate quotation.
TERMS OF PAYMENT
Payment will be due within 3 days of any works being completed
Should any payment made not be made, we reserve the right to charge a minimum of £25 for administration, which will also apply to payment not honoured by the bank or building society etc.
CLIENT OBLIGATIONS
The Client shall be responsible for the correctness of all measurements for products or materials which he gives to SMI Handyman Leeds. Where these measurements are not correct and accordingly materials or products which are ordered or provided by SMI Handyman Leeds are the wrong size, the Client shall bear the expense of rectifying this.
The Client shall co-operate with SMI Handyman Leeds as may be necessary to facilitate this agreement, including but not limited to:
Permitting SMI Handyman Leeds access to the property or location in which the services are to be supplied (“the Site”) and assuring that such access is appropriate and adequate.
Where the Site is indoors, ensuring that there is adequate ventilation.
Providing for SMI Handyman Leeds such facilities as may be necessary in order to allow him to complete the services.
Following SMI Handyman Leeds’ reasonable Instructions relating to safety and the state of work which has recently been completed by SMI Handyman Leeds or is in the process of being completed or to the state of the site in general, including directions and restrictions on appropriate usage, care and maintenance.
Unless the Quotation specifies otherwise, the client will be responsible for any redecorating which is necessary to the site after SMI Handyman Leeds has completed the agreed services
Where SMI Handyman Leeds stores or keeps any materials or equipment on Site, the Client shall be responsible for the security and safety of such and shall account to SMI Handyman Leeds for any loss or damage.
The Client shall be responsible for any permissions, licences or consents which are necessary in order for the services to be provided. The Client warrants that he has applied for and obtained all such necessary permissions, licence or consents prior to contracting SMI Handyman Leeds
COMPLETION
SMI Handyman Leeds will make every endeavour to carry out the work within the period stipulated or within a reasonable time frame but we cannot not be held responsible for any delay, loss or damage arising out of any cause beyond our control
OWNERSHIP OF MATERIALS
All materials, appliances and fitments and other goods shall remain the property of SMI Handyman Leeds until all accounts have been settled in full.
Failure to pay may result in materials being removed and SMI Handyman Leeds will not be liable to any damage caused by the removal of said materials.
RISK
SMI Handyman Leeds shall be responsible for equipment, materials and labour supplied by them during the course of the work, but shall not be liable to replace the equipment already installed or re-do work already carried out by them which may have been destroyed, damaged or stolen in circumstances where they are not at fault.
GENERAL GUARANTEE
SMI Handyman Leeds guarantees that all goods and materials supplied by them if ordered by description and/or specification shall correspond to that description.
SMI Handyman Leeds guarantees that all materials supplied by them will be merchantable quality and fit for the particular purpose for which they are supplied.
SMI Handyman Leeds will make good defects due to bad workmanship and replace any defective materials or goods supplied provided that any defects are brought to the notice within 14 days of completion of the work. However this guarantee does not extend to: (a) Any loss or damage or indirect nor any work entailed due to the apparatus being put into operation by the customer or at this request before it is handed over for beneficial use (b) Any consequential loss or damage caused directly or indirectly by any articles or materials not manufactured by them except in case of negligence or breach of contract. (c) Our general guarantee does not cover for emergency calls unless the defect is causing damage.
If any items such as televisions, units, mirrors etc., come loose from the wall while under warranty and the cause to the item coming loose is found to be defective plaster work, misuse or similar SMI Handyman Leeds warranty will not apply and costs incurred will be charged out at normal rates.
GENERAL CONDITIONS
SMI Handyman Leeds will not be responsible for any damage to carpets, floor coverings etc., during any lifting or re-fitting.
When estimating/quoting for the work SMI Handyman Leeds will endeavour to provide a cost for the proposed works however will not be held responsible for any omissions, especially any as a result of work which were not visible at the time of the surveyors visit.
